Specifications

The second tab that users will see when adding a single product is the "Specifications" tab. The tab contains all the sections with general product measurements. These sections can either be filled in or selected from a drop-down menu. Required fields are noted with a pink asterisk. Other fields are not compulsory but products are more visible in the marketplace when more information is filled in so users are encouraged to fill in as much information on their products as possible.

There are 11 fields to fill in or select from a drop-down in this section. None are compulsory.

Length:

The length of the product can be indicated in the left-hand field. The length is filled in and separated by a full stop. If the length of the product is for example; 1.2 metres the user will need to convert this to centimetres or inches and fill in 120.00 cm. The unit of measurement is selected from a drop-down menu. The length of an object is the most extended dimension of an object.

Width:

The width of the product can be indicated in the left-hand field. The width is filled in and separated by a full stop. If the width of the product is for example; 1.2 metres the user will need to convert this to centimetres or inches and fill in 120.00 cm. The unit of measurement is selected from a drop-down menu. The width is the measurement from side to side of an object.

Height:

The height of the product can be indicated in the left-hand field. The height is filled in and separated by a full stop. If the height of the product is for example; 1.2 metres the user will need to convert this to centimetres or inches and fill in 120.00 cm. The unit of measurement is selected from a drop-down menu. The height of an object is the measurement from the base to the top of an object.

Product Weight:

The product weight is the weight of the item without any packaging or boxes. This can be indicated in pounds or kilograms. The weight is filled in and separated by a full stop. If the weight is 1.2kg then the user will fill in 1.2 and select kilogram from the drop-down menu. The unit of measurement is selected from a drop-down menu.

Shipping Weight:

The shipping weight is the weight of the item with all packaging and boxes included. This can be indicated in pounds or kilograms. The weight is filled in and separated by a full stop. If the weight is 1.2kg then the user will fill in 1.2 and select kilogram from the drop-down menu. The unit of measurement is selected from a drop-down menu.

Shipping Country of Origin:

The shipping country of origin is the country from which the item is shipping. This can be different from the seller address or the company address as many users have warehouses where they store their products. The country can be typed in or selected from a pop-up, drop-down menu. This is important to fill in so that the buyer is aware of the area which the products must be collected.
